Kevin Federline added fuel to the fire of the controversial radio show Kyle and Jackie O in Sydney after pulling his live appearance at the 11th hour.

Federline was scheduled to appear on the shock jocks’ breakfast show on 2DayFM. But he was angered by a bulletin announcing his appearance on the website that used the teaser: “Hear (Federline) confess that he’s not ruling out getting back together with Britney!”

K-Fed had a paid co-host gig and was expected to show at 6.40 am. But after neither he nor his publicist could be contacted, producers went into a flat panic.

A make-up artist from Spears’ Circus tour told Victoria Prince, K-Fed’s girlfriend, about the posting the night before the scheduled appearance. Prince was said to have asked K-Fed about it over dinner. He was reported to have “exploded” when he checked the site on his iPhone.

His publicist, Amanda Archer said: “The headline was completely out of context with the interview and Kevin is not getting back with Britney, so he said, ‘F..k them, I’m not going to do their show’.”

Archer said she had immediately sent a text message to the 2DayFM producer to let the show know. Station content director Derek Bargwanna, however, said no text was received. “If he has a problem, fine, but we should have been told or warned and we weren’t and that left us seriously in the lurch and it was unprofessional,” he said.
